- During early life I was known as Fido - so I use that as my internet identity where I can. I am a retired Local Government man who now enjoys a variety of interests. In these blogs I hope to share some of them with anyone with a shared sense of humour who may come across them. But they are mainly for my own interest as a reminder of some of the things I have done in my retirement. This is one of them.
I was in the very last class to take common entrance at wells house before it closed in 1991. This bell was called "the riser" and at 7:15 on weekday mornings, matron would roam the corridors and dormitories ringing it to wake everyone up.
